BGR celebrates 10th anniversary
NASHVILLE (BP) -- Baptist Global Response (BGR) is celebrating its 10-year anniversary in a big way -- with a campaign to raise $100,000 for people in need. Since 2007, the humanitarian aid organization has been partnering with Southern Baptist donors to fund disaster relief and community development projects around the world. And, BGR hopes to celebrate the milestone in August by raising $10,000 for each year of service, reaching a total of $100,000.
BGR releases spring catalog
NASHVILLE (BP) -- Southern Baptists will find Vacation Bible School ideas and more in the 2017 Baptist Global Response Spring Gift Catalog. BGR is a Southern Baptist humanitarian relief agency that focuses on disaster relief and community development in some of the world's poorest areas. Its spring and Christmas gift catalogs offer donors new avenues for connecting with people in need. Supporters can purchase items like cows, water filters and wells and donate them in honor of friends and family. Many people buy catalog items for special occasions such as holiday and birthday presents.
Global Hunger Sunday promotion resources available
NASHVILLE (BP) -- Baptist Global Response, a Southern Baptist humanitarian aid organization, has published a new media kit to help churches promote Global Hunger Sunday on Oct. 9. The kit contains a poster, promotional video, announcement slide, three versions of a bulletin insert and three hunger-related sermon outlines. Southern Baptist churches can use these resources to raise awareness about Global Hunger Sunday, an annual giving event for Global Hunger Relief (GHR).
