Jack MacGorman, long-time professor, SWBTS chapel namesake, dies at age 100
FORT WORTH, Texas (BP)—John William “Jack” MacGorman, long-time professor of New Testament at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and namesake for its MacGorman Chapel, died today at the age of 100, two days shy of his 101st birthday.

Smith Sr. has been appointed director of public relations at The Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, President Adam W. Greenway announced Thursday, Oct. 17. "Jim Smith is one of the Southern Baptist Convention's most respected journalists and gifted communicators who brings a wealth of public relations experience and denominational service to this critical new position at Southwestern Seminary," said Greenway. "I have known Jim for a number of years, and having served alongside him previously, I know firsthand the quality of his work and the quantity of his gifts.
