Terrebonne to be nominated for SBC 2VP

NEW ORLEANS (BP) — South Louisiana pastor Shane Terrebonne will be nominated for second vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention this week at the 2023 SBC Annual Meeting.

Terrebonne, a Louisiana native and pastor at Gulf Coast Baptist Church in Golden Meadow, will be nominated by his son, Titus, who pastors Alamo Heights Baptist Church in Port Lavaca, Texas.

“[My dad] loves Jesus and seeing souls won for the glory of God,” Titus said in a statement. “He believes in the inerrant, infallible Word of God. He has been a pastor in the southeast U.S. for more than 30 years and has been serving at a church plant he helped to plant seven years ago.”

Shane has served on the Louisiana Baptist Convention Credentials Committee as well as the board of trustees of Louisiana Christian University.

According to Annual Church Profile information, Gulf Coast Baptist Church averaged 30 in weekly worship and reported 13 baptisms in 2022. The church reported $642.58 given through the Cooperative Program, $321 to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and $300 to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.

Terrebonne is the second announced candidate for the office along with Kason Branch.
